On the shop floor, plans change: an order gets pulled, a component shortage stalls a run, or a manufacturing order (mrp.production) is confirmed against the wrong bill of materials. In stock Odoo, once an MO is confirmed and especially once components are consumed or it is marked done, your options narrow fast — the state machine on mrp.production does not offer a clean, reversing cancel that unwinds the raw-material stock.move records, the WIP location postings, and any produced quantity. Users end up manually scrapping, creating inventory adjustments, or force-editing states, which leaves stock valuation drift, orphaned reservations, and an audit trail nobody can reconcile at month end. This is the exact gap where the native workflow runs out of road.
We build Manufacturing Order Cancel & Reverse as a proper Odoo module tailored to your environment. Technically, it extends mrp.production with a guarded cancel/reverse action that walks the linked component moves and finished-goods move, generates the correct reversing stock.move/stock.move.line entries (returning consumed materials to their source locations and removing produced quantity from stock), and returns the MO to a well-defined state — either cancel or a configurable draft for re-planning.
