Shopify was designed to sell products once, not lend them out and get them back. If you rent equipment, apparel, sports gear, or event inventory, the native cart can't model an asset that's unavailable Tuesday through Thursday, priced by the hour, and owes a refundable deposit on return. Rental & Reservation Management is a custom Shopify app ECOSIRE builds for your exact catalog and workflow.

This is build-to-order, not an instant App Store install. After purchase, our engineers scope your rental rules, build the app against your store, install it via OAuth, and hand it over working. The app is a Shopify-embedded admin app using the Admin GraphQL API, metafields for per-variant rental attributes, and webhooks (orders/create, orders/fulfilled, refunds/create) to drive the reservation lifecycle.

What you get: time-based pricing tiers (hour / day / week) computed at checkout; a live availability calendar that reads booked date ranges from order metafields and prevents double-booking before the order is placed; refundable security deposits and configurable damage fees; return / check-in tracking built into Shopify POS so counter staff mark items back into stock; and iCal (ICS) feed sync so shared or multi-channel inventory stays consistent.

Is this an instant download from the Shopify App Store?

No. This is a build-to-order app. After you purchase, ECOSIRE scopes your rental rules, builds the app against your specific store and catalog, and installs it for you via OAuth. You receive a working rental system, not a generic plugin you configure alone.

How long does delivery take?

Typical delivery is about 2 to 4 weeks from the kickoff call, depending on the complexity of your pricing rules, number of locations, and any iCal or external-system sync. After purchase we book a scoping call, confirm requirements in writing, and give you a firm timeline before development starts.

What ongoing support and updates are included?

Every build includes a post-launch support window for bug fixes and configuration adjustments. After that, we offer optional maintenance to keep the app compatible with Shopify API version updates, POS changes, and new rental rules as your business grows. You own the delivered app either way.

Will it work with Shopify POS and multiple store locations?

Yes. Return check-in and deposit release are built into Shopify POS via an extension, and the availability engine respects Shopify's multi-location inventory so each branch sees its own rentable stock and calendar. We confirm your exact POS and location setup during scoping.

How are deposits and damage fees handled?

Refundable security deposits are captured at checkout and tracked against each rental. On return, staff release the full deposit, withhold part of it, or apply a damage or late fee through Shopify's refund and draft-order mechanisms. The exact policy and amounts are configured to your rules during the build.
