Metal fabrication shops live and die on material yield, machine sequencing, and job costing that Odoo's generic manufacturing model was never shaped for. A fabricator quotes by weight and grade, cuts nested parts from stock sheets and bars, tracks the offcut "drops" that get reused, and routes each part through laser/plasma/waterjet, press-brake bending, and welding before finishing. Out of the box, Odoo's mrp.production treats a BoM as fixed quantities consumed at fixed operations — it has no concept of a nesting layout, no per-cut kerf loss, no reusable remnant inventory, and no way to cost a job by realized material utilization versus what was quoted. Teams end up running the shop in spreadsheets bolted onto Odoo, and the ERP stops being the source of truth.
Metal Fabricator is a build-to-order Odoo application ECOSIRE designs around your actual process. We extend the ORM with the models your operation needs: a nesting/layout model that groups parts onto a stock sheet or bar and records utilization and kerf; a stock.lot-backed remnant (drop) model so offcuts re-enter inventory with grade, gauge, and dimensions; and process routings that map cutting, bending, and welding as real mrp.routing.workcenter operations with per-operation setup and run times. Material is grade- and gauge-aware through product attributes and variants, and cost roll-up is computed with @api.depends compute fields so a job's true material, machine-time, and labor cost is visible the moment production data lands — not a month later in accounting.
Technically, everything is a proper Odoo module: a versioned __manifest__.py, models/ subclassing models.Model with _inherit on sale.order, mrp.production, stock.move, and product.template where we extend rather than replace core behavior, backed views in XML/OWL, and QWeb reports for the quote sheet, cut list, and traveler/router that follows a job on the floor. Access is locked down with ir.model.access.csv plus record rules so operators, estimators, and shop managers each see only what their role should. Automated actions and scheduled jobs handle the repetitive glue — flagging low remnant stock, notifying when a nest is ready to release, and rolling estimated-versus-actual variance onto the job. Where you need machines, MES, or a shipping/CAD-CAM system to talk to Odoo, we build against the XML-RPC/JSON-RPC API. We target Odoo 17.0, 18.0, and 19.0 and build cleanly on Community or Enterprise, using Enterprise-only features (like studio-adjacent widgets or advanced MRP) only when your edition already includes them.
Delivery is build-to-order: it starts with a scoping call to map your grades, machines, routings, and reporting, after which we confirm scope and a fixed quote, build on a staging instance, run UAT with your team, and deploy with a rollback plan and a post-go-live support window. Typical delivery is 2–4 weeks from confirmed scope. Pricing starts from $349 (indicative, single-company base scope); multi-company shops, additional machine/MES integrations, deep localization, and large historical data migrations increase the quoted scope.
Runs a custom or job-shop fabrication business on Odoo and needs true job costing — realized material yield, machine time, and margin per job — instead of after-the-fact spreadsheet reconciliation.
Quotes work by weight, grade, and process. Needs fast, consistent estimates on `sale.order` that account for nesting yield and machine time, then flow straight into production without re-keying.
Sequences cutting, bending, and welding across workcenters. Needs real routings, nest release control, and remnant visibility to keep machines fed and reduce material waste.
Owns the Odoo instance and wants a clean, upgrade-safe module with proper security rules and API integrations — not brittle Studio hacks — that they can maintain and hand off.
| 标准 | 伊科西尔 | 定制建造 | 竞争对手 | 奥杜本机 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fit to fabrication process | Built around your grades, machines, and routings | Fully bespoke but you specify and manage everything | Generic feature set, rarely matches your shop | |
| Nesting & material utilization | Nesting/layout model with utilization and kerf tracking | Only if you commission and design it | Usually absent or superficial | |
| Offcut (drop) inventory | Remnants tracked as lots with grade, gauge, size | Possible but must be built from scratch | Rarely supported | |
| Job costing (estimated vs actual) | Realized material, machine-time, labor rolled onto the job | Depends entirely on your build | Basic MRP costing at best | |
| Upgrade safety | Clean `_inherit` module, upgrade-friendly | Varies with developer discipline | Depends on vendor's maintenance | |
| Delivery model | Scoped, staged, UAT + rollback, 2–4 weeks | Longer, open-ended project risk | Instant install, but generic | |
| Support & ownership | Post-go-live support + full git handover, you own it | You own it but carry all maintenance | Vendor-dependent, subscription risk | |
| Total cost of ownership | Fixed quote from indicative base, no lock-in | High and unpredictable | Low upfront, hidden gaps and workarounds |
No. Metal Fabricator is build-to-order. ECOSIRE scopes your process, builds the module around your grades, machines, and routings, then installs and supports it. There is no instant download — you receive a solution tailored to your shop and your Odoo version.
Typical delivery is 2–4 weeks from confirmed scope. Timing depends on the number of routings, integrations, and how much historical data needs migrating. We agree the timeline with you on the scoping call before any build starts.
Pricing starts from $349 as an indicative single-company base scope. After a short scoping call we send a fixed quote for your exact requirements. Multi-company setups, extra machine/MES integrations, deep localization, and large data migrations increase the quoted scope.
Every build includes a post-go-live support window for defect fixes and questions. Because it's a properly structured module using `_inherit` rather than core forks, it's upgrade-friendly; we also offer version upgrades to newer Odoo releases as a separate scoped engagement.
It builds cleanly on both Odoo 17.0, 18.0, and 19.0, Community or Enterprise. We only rely on Enterprise-only features (such as advanced MRP widgets) when your edition already includes them, and we confirm your edition during scoping.
Yes. We build integrations against Odoo's XML-RPC / JSON-RPC API to import nests, push work orders, or exchange data with MES and controllers. The specific integrations are scoped and quoted based on the systems you run.
Yes. You receive the installable source and a full git repository handover with commit history, so your team or another Odoo partner can maintain it. There is no lock-in.
