Rental & Equipment Hire POS turns standard Business Central retail into a full equipment-hire counter without bolting on a separate rental system. It is delivered as a per-tenant AL extension that ECOSIRE builds, installs and supports directly on your Business Central environment — not an instant AppSource download.

The extension adds a Rentable Item concept on top of your existing item cards using table and page extensions, plus a new availability calendar so counter staff can see what is on hire, reserved, or back in stock at any date. Bookings, check-out and check-in run inside the POS flow your cashiers already use, with deposits, security holds, daily/weekly/seasonal rate plans, and automatic late and damage charges posted back through standard BC sales and finance documents.

Because it is real AL — table extensions, page extensions, event subscribers, and codeunits — it respects your permission sets, posts to the correct G/L accounts, and surfaces rental data through the BC REST/OData API for Power BI or Dataverse / Power Platform reporting. Recurring jobs (overdue flags, deposit releases, rate accruals) run on the BC job queue.

ECOSIRE scopes the build with you, develops against your chosen POS gateway, installs the signed extension on sandbox first, then promotes to production. ECOSIRE develops it as a per-tenant AL extension, installs it on your Business Central sandbox for review, then promotes the signed app to your production environment. There is no public AppSource listing or instant download — you get software built and deployed specifically for your tenant.

How long does delivery take?

Typical delivery is a few weeks from sign-off, depending on how many rentable categories you run and the complexity of your rate plans, deposit rules and damage-charge policy. We confirm a firm timeline in the scoping phase before any development starts, and we install to sandbox first so you validate before go-live.

What happens with ongoing support and Business Central updates?

The price includes a defined support window with a named ECOSIRE contact. Because the extension is upgrade-safe AL (extensions, event subscribers — not modified base objects), it carries forward through BC's monthly and major releases; we verify compatibility on your sandbox and apply any fixes needed. Larger feature changes are quoted separately, but break-fix and version-compatibility work is covered.

Does it post correctly to our accounts and respect our permissions?

Yes. Rental charges, deposits, late fees and damage charges post through standard BC sales and finance documents to the G/L accounts you specify, using event subscribers rather than custom posting hacks. A dedicated permission set controls who can book, check out, override rates and release deposits, so it fits your existing security model.

Can we report on utilization and revenue outside Business Central?

Yes. Rental and availability data is exposed through the Business Central REST/OData API, so you can build Power BI dashboards or push into Dataverse / the Power Platform for utilization, overdue and revenue reporting. We provide a sample data model and the endpoint details as part of the handover.
