How a Lahore Pharmacy Chain Achieved 99.2% Inventory Accuracy with Odoo

ECOSIRE deployed Odoo POS with barcode scanning across all 12 branches, connected to a centralized inventory system with lot-level tracking and automated expiry management. FIFO (first-expiry-first-out) rules were configured to ensure near-expiry stock is always dispensed first. An automated inter-branch transfer system was implemented that identifies slow-moving stock approaching expiry and suggests transfers to higher-demand branches. Purchase was centralized with an approved supplier catalog and negotiated price lists, with branch managers raising requisitions rather than placing orders directly. A near-expiry dashboard alerts the procurement team 90/60/30 days before batch expiration.

課題

Expired Medicine Write-Offs

Without automated expiry tracking, pharmacists discovered expired stock only during monthly shelf checks. Medicines with short shelf life frequently expired in slower-moving branches while faster branches ran out of the same items. Annual write-offs due to expired stock exceeded PKR 1.8M.

No Inter-Branch Stock Visibility

Each of the 12 branches maintained its own stock register. When a customer asked for a medicine that was out of stock, the pharmacist had to call other branches one by one to check availability. There was no system-level view of where any medicine was across the chain.

Supplier Pricing Inconsistency

Different branches negotiated independently with pharmaceutical distributors, resulting in the same medicine being purchased at 3-4 different price points across locations. The procurement team had no visibility into what each branch was paying until end-of-month reconciliation.

今後の展望
