In WhatsApp-first markets, your customers don't open transactional email — they live in WhatsApp. WhatsApp Order Notifications & Receipts is a Shopify app that ECOSIRE builds, installs and maintains for your store so every order touchpoint flows through the channel your buyers actually read.

This is build-to-order, not an instant App Store download. After purchase, our team provisions a private Shopify app for your shop, connects it via OAuth with the exact access scopes needed (read_orders, read_customers, read_locations, POS access), and wires it to your WhatsApp Business Platform (Cloud API) sender and approved message templates. You get a working, branded integration — not a generic plugin you have to configure alone.

The app subscribes to Shopify webhooks (orders/create, orders/paid, orders/fulfilled, fulfillments/update, checkouts/update) and reads order data through the Admin GraphQL API. When an in-store POS sale closes or an online order is placed, a WhatsApp confirmation goes out instantly. Paid invoices and receipts are rendered to PDF and delivered as WhatsApp document messages. Fulfillment events trigger pickup-ready and shipping updates per location using Shopify's multi-location data.

Beyond transactions, we set up abandoned-cart and re-order nudges, a two-way support inbox so replies land in one place, and template message management so your team can update copy within WhatsApp's approval rules. Delivery state and opt-in consent are stored in Shopify metafields against the order and customer, keeping everything inside your existing data model.

Is this an instant Shopify App Store download?

No. This is a build-to-order app. After purchase, ECOSIRE provisions a private Shopify app for your store, connects it via OAuth, wires it to your WhatsApp Business Platform sender, and submits the message templates for Meta approval. You receive a working, configured integration rather than a self-serve plugin.

How long does delivery take?

Typical delivery is about 7 to 12 business days from kickoff. The main variable is outside our control: WhatsApp Business Platform message-template review by Meta, which usually takes a day or two per template but can run longer. We confirm a firm timeline once your Meta Business account and Shopify access are ready.

What do I need to provide before you can build it?

You provide your Shopify store (with POS if you use in-store sales), a verified Meta Business account with a WhatsApp Business phone number, and approval to install a private app. ECOSIRE handles the OAuth connection, webhook setup, template drafting and submission, PDF receipt formatting, and metafield configuration.

What happens with ongoing support and updates?

Every build includes a support window after go-live for fixes and adjustments. After that, we offer ongoing maintenance covering Shopify Admin API version upgrades, WhatsApp Cloud API changes, template edits, and new notification events. Support and update terms are agreed in writing — there is no surprise lock-in.

Does this work for in-store POS sales as well as online orders?

Yes. Because the app listens to Shopify order and fulfillment webhooks, a sale closed at the POS counter triggers the same WhatsApp confirmation and receipt flow as an online checkout, provided the customer has a phone number and has opted in. Pickup-ready updates are especially useful for click-and-collect across multiple locations.
