Equipment & Product Rental Manager turns your existing Shopify catalog into a real rental and booking engine — without forcing you to rebuild your store on a separate rental platform. We provision a custom Shopify app (OAuth-installed into your admin) that talks to the Admin GraphQL API, stores per-product rental config in metafields, and subscribes to orders/create, orders/cancelled and fulfillments webhooks to keep availability honest.
Under the hood, each rentable product gets a calendar UI injected on the PDP via a theme app embed / app block. Availability is reserved against your real inventory — including multi-location inventory when you rent the same gear from more than one branch — and configurable buffer days prevent back-to-back bookings that leave no time to clean, service or ship between renters. Security deposits and damage waivers are added as line items or draft-order holds; a rent-or-buy toggle lets a single product be sold outright or rented. On return, staff mark the unit back into stock and the system calculates late fees from the agreed return date.
