The FedEx Shipping Connector wires your own FedEx account directly into your Shopify store so customers see your negotiated rates — not generic retail prices — calculated live at checkout from real cart weight, dimensions and destination. This is a build-to-order app: ECOSIRE builds it against your store, your FedEx credentials and your fulfillment rules, then installs and supports it. It is not an instant Shopify App Store download.
On the rating side, the app calls the FedEx Rate API with your account number and meter, applies your dimensional-weight and packaging rules, and returns service options (Ground, Express, International) to the checkout via Shopify's carrier-service callback. Origin addresses map to your multi-location inventory, so rates reflect where the order actually ships from.
For fulfillment, orders received through Admin GraphQL API and order webhooks trigger label generation — domestic and international — with multi-piece and FedEx Freight support, automatic customs documentation (commercial invoice, harmonized codes pulled from product metafields), and pickup scheduling. Tracking numbers are written back to the Shopify fulfillment and real-time tracking events are surfaced to you and the customer.
Connection uses Shopify OAuth with least-privilege scopes; your FedEx keys are stored server-side, never in the theme. Because every catalog, rate card and customs profile differs, we scope the exact behavior with you before building.

Do I need my own FedEx account, and will it really show my negotiated rates?
Yes — you provide your FedEx account number, meter and API credentials. The app authenticates as your account against the FedEx Rate API, so the prices returned at checkout are your contracted rates, including negotiated discounts, not FedEx retail pricing.
Will FedEx rates show at checkout on my Shopify plan?
Live carrier-calculated rates at checkout require the Shopify carrier-service feature, which is available on the Advanced/Plus plans or by adding the carrier-calculated-shipping option (often available on annual plans). If your plan does not support it, we can still deliver back-office labels, customs docs, tracking and pickups and quote FedEx in the cart via an app block. We confirm your plan's capability during scoping.
What ongoing support and updates are included?
Every build includes a post-launch support window covering bug fixes, configuration tweaks and adjustments for FedEx API changes. When FedEx updates its API or rate structure, we update the connector. Longer-term maintenance and enhancement plans are available so the app keeps working as your catalog, contract and Shopify evolve.
