Most teams that run Odoo eventually hit the same wall on workforce scheduling. Employees, contracts, and working calendars already live in hr.employee and resource.calendar, but Odoo core has no first-class concept of a published shift roster — who works which slot, on which site, with which skills, and whether the day is covered. Planners fall back to spreadsheets that drift out of sync with attendance, time-off, and payroll, so double-bookings, uncovered slots, and unapproved swaps surface only after the fact. The native planning app (Enterprise) covers some of this for shift planning, but many businesses need site-specific rosters, coverage rules, and swap approvals that a generic setup does not model.
This is a made-to-order module we design and build for your operation. At its core is a dedicated shift model (shift.schedule / shift.line) linked to hr.employee, resource.calendar, and — where relevant — hr.department and analytic accounts, with @api.depends computes for shift duration, coverage counts, and cost estimates. Overlap and rest-period rules are enforced with @api.constrains so one employee cannot be booked into conflicting slots or scheduled through a time-off record in hr.leave. Rosters are exposed through Gantt, calendar, list, and Kanban views (XML/OWL), with a QWeb PDF roster you can hand to a site supervisor and a portal view so staff see their own upcoming shifts. Automated actions and scheduled crons handle recurring roster generation and reminder notifications, and every model ships with ir.model.access.csv plus record rules so planners edit only their own department or site while staff see read-only their own lines.
Because it is built on standard Odoo ORM and the shared calendar/employee data, the module integrates cleanly with the rest of your instance rather than sitting beside it. Approved shifts can feed attendance expectations and, where you use it, project or field-service planning; the whole thing is reachable over the XML-RPC/JSON-RPC API so external kiosks, mobile clients, or a workforce app can read and post shift data. We build against your Odoo edition and version — Community or Enterprise, 17.0, 18.0, or 19.0 — and reuse native models wherever they already do the job instead of reinventing them.
Delivery is build-to-order. We start with a short scoping call to confirm your roster structure, coverage rules, approval flow, sites, and reporting needs, then send a fixed quotation and timeline. Typical delivery is 2-4 weeks from confirmed scope, depending on integration and localization depth. You get installable source code for your Odoo version, deployment on your server or Odoo.sh, UAT on a staging database, and a post-go-live support window. Pricing starts from $249 (indicative, single-company base scope); multi-company rosters, extra integrations, custom approval hierarchies, and higher data-migration volume increase the quoted scope. The exact number is fixed in writing after the scoping call — there is no instant download and no per-seat surprise.
Builds weekly rosters across shifts and sites and needs coverage gaps, conflicts, and rest-period breaches flagged before publishing — not discovered on the floor.
Wants shift data that respects contracts, working calendars, and time-off in `hr.leave`, with an audit trail and approvals for swaps rather than untracked spreadsheet edits.
Needs a clean printed or portal roster for their own team, the ability to request swaps, and record-rule scoping so they only touch their own site's schedule.
Runs the instance and wants a module that reuses native employee/calendar models, ships proper `ir.model.access.csv` and record rules, and exposes clean XML-RPC/JSON-RPC access.
| Kriterium | ECOSIRE | Benutzerdefinierter Build | Konkurrent | Odoo Native |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fit to your rostering rules | Built to your coverage, sites, and approval flow | Fully bespoke but you own all analysis and design | Generic feature set, limited to its assumptions | |
| Time-off & calendar awareness | Reads `hr.leave` and `resource.calendar` by design | Possible, depends on your team's Odoo depth | Varies; often partial or bolted on | |
| Conflict & rest-period rules | `@api.constrains` overlap and hours guards, configurable | Whatever you build and maintain | Usually basic or absent | |
| Security scoping | Per-site record rules + `ir.model.access.csv` | Your responsibility to design correctly | Generic groups, rarely site-scoped | |
| Version & edition support | Targeted to your 17/18/19, Community or Enterprise | You maintain across upgrades | Depends on vendor's supported versions | |
| Support & accountability | Post-go-live window + named team | Internal only, no external SLA | Forum/ticket support, quality varies | |
| Total cost predictability | Fixed quote after scoping, from $249 indicative | Open-ended developer time | Low list price, hidden fit/customization cost | |
| Source & handover | Full source + git repo handover | You already hold the source | Often closed or license-restricted |
No. It is build-to-order. We design and build the module for your Odoo version and rostering rules, then install and support it. There is no instant download — every deployment is scoped to your operation.
Typical delivery is 2-4 weeks from confirmed scope. Simple single-company rosters land toward the shorter end; multi-site, custom approval flows, integrations, or data migration push toward the longer end. We commit to a timeline in writing after the scoping call.
Pricing starts from $249 as an indicative, single-company base-scope figure. After a short scoping call we send a fixed written quotation covering your exact requirements. Multi-company rosters, extra integrations, custom approvals, and larger data migrations increase the quote — but the number is fixed before we start building.
Every build includes a post-go-live support window for bug fixes and clarifications. Beyond that, we offer ongoing support and can port the module to a newer Odoo major version (17.0 to 18.0 to 19.0) as a scoped follow-on engagement.
Both. We build against your edition and version. On Community we implement roster and Gantt-style planning ourselves rather than depending on Enterprise-only apps; on Enterprise we can reuse native planning models where they fit your workflow to reduce custom code.
Yes. The module reads `hr.employee`, `resource.calendar`, and `hr.leave` so scheduling honors working hours and blocks booking staff who are on approved leave. Rest-period and maximum-hours rules are enforced via `@api.constrains` and are configurable during scoping.
Yes. All models are standard Odoo records reachable over the XML-RPC/JSON-RPC API, so kiosks, mobile clients, or a workforce app can query rosters and submit swap or open-shift requests, subject to the same access rights and record rules.
