Rental businesses that run on Odoo hit the same wall quickly: the same physical asset must be booked, dispatched, returned, inspected, and re-rented dozens of times, but a standard sales order treats every line as a one-off sale of stock. Odoo's native rental capability handles time-based pricing and a basic reservation calendar, yet it has no real concept of a serialized machine's utilization history, no structured return-condition workflow, no maintenance lockout when a tool is being serviced, and no per-unit deposit reconciliation. Teams end up tracking availability in spreadsheets, double-booking a single excavator or scaffold set, and losing money on unbilled damage and late returns. ECOSIRE builds a dedicated Machine & Tools Rental package on top of Odoo's ORM that models each rentable unit as a first-class record. We layer a rental domain over product.template/product.product and stock.lot (serial-tracked units), with models.Model classes carrying @api.depends computed fields for real-time availability, utilization rate, and next-available date. Rate cards are driven by configurable duration tiers (hourly, daily, weekly, monthly) with @api.constrains guards that prevent overlapping reservations on the same serial. Operationally, the package ships QWeb reports for rental agreements, pickup/return checklists, and deposit receipts, plus OWL/XML views: a Gantt-style availability board, a kanban of on-rent vs. returning-today units, and a calendar of scheduled maintenance windows. Automated actions (server actions and scheduled ir.cron jobs) send overdue-return reminders, flag units whose service interval is due, and auto-generate the next invoice on recurring rentals. Everything is reachable over Odoo's XML-RPC/JSON-RPC API so your website, field-service app, or a customer portal can query live availability and create reservations programmatically. We build against your edition — Community or Enterprise — and reuse Enterprise modules (Field Service, Sign, full Accounting) only where you already own them, keeping Community deployments free of Enterprise dependencies.
