Excel Report Builder & Financial Reporting closes that gap: it turns your tenant into a live data source so that account schedules, financial statements, and operational reports refresh on demand — with full drill-down back to the originating G/L entries.
This is a build-to-order extension, not an instant AppSource download. ECOSIRE scopes your exact reporting requirements (your chart of accounts, account schedules, dimensions, and statement layouts), builds the AL extension, and installs it as a per-tenant extension directly on your Business Central environment (online or on-prem). You get a working reporting layer mapped to your financials, not a generic template you have to rebuild yourself.
Under the hood we expose curated, secured OData/API v2 web services that Excel connects to via Power Query, so a workbook refresh pulls current figures without re-exporting. Account-schedule and financial-statement templates are generated from your existing BC setup. Pivot-ready feeds let analysts build their own cuts. A job queue entry can run scheduled refreshes and email distribution of finished workbooks to stakeholders. Drill-through links carry the user from a summary cell back to the underlying ledger entries inside Business Central.
Access is governed by purpose-built permission sets so reports respect the same data boundaries as the rest of BC. What is the delivery lead time?
Typical delivery is about one working week from the point we've confirmed your reporting requirements and have access to a sandbox. Timing depends on how many account schedules and statement layouts you need and the complexity of your dimensions and consolidation. We confirm a firm date during scoping before any build starts.
How do the Excel reports stay current?
We expose curated, secured OData / API v2 web services from your tenant. The Excel workbooks connect to those via Power Query, so a workbook Refresh pulls the latest figures directly from Business Central — no re-export. Where you want it hands-free, a Business Central job queue entry runs scheduled refreshes and emails the finished workbooks on a cadence.
What about ongoing support and Business Central updates?
