From a Warehouse Shipment or Sales/Transfer order, your team requests live rates across your contracted carriers, compares pallet, LTL and FTL options on one page, and books the chosen service without leaving BC. The extension writes the booking reference, tracking number and freight cost back to the source document, retrieves the carrier label as a PDF for printing, and consolidates track & trace status so warehouse staff see delivery progress on the document they already work from.
Technically this is delivered as a clean AL extension: table and page extensions on the shipment/order, a dedicated "Freight Booking" page, event subscribers on posting, an API/OData-based integration layer with retry and logging, secure credential storage via Isolated Storage, a permission set, and Job Queue entries for background tracking polls.
