Workflow and object design

Receive a field coordination signal, validate its source and required fields, resolve Work Order, Service Appointment and Asset, apply the renewal management decision rules, write the approved state, then record a correlated audit result. The source event is field.renew.requested; the resulting audit event is field.renew.recorded. The mapped business surface is Work Order, Service Appointment and Asset.

Technical approach

The scoped design may use OAuth 2.0 connected app, REST API, Bulk API 2.0, Composite API, Pub/Sub API, Lightning Web Components, Flow. Authentication is based on OAuth connected app with scoped permission sets and a dedicated integration user. The implementation accounts for Salesforce API allocations, Bulk API job limits and transaction governor limits.

Failure and reconciliation design

Every request uses the idempotency key salesforce-field-renew:source-id:revision. Retryable transport and throttle responses enter bounded backoff; validation and mapping failures enter a visible exception queue. A reconciliation pass compares source revision, target identifier and recorded state, then permits controlled replay without duplicating the business action.
