Construction and estimating teams live inside BC3 exchange files: a single .bc3 export from a measurement or bill-of-quantities tool carries the entire cost breakdown structure — chapters, sub-chapters, priced work units (partidas), unit-price decompositions, and detailed measurement lines with dimension formulas. When that budget has to become a real Odoo sales order, purchase plan, or project cost baseline, the work today is manual re-keying: someone retypes hundreds of concept codes, prices, and measured quantities into sale.order.line or a BoM, transcription errors slip in, and the moment the estimator issues a revised budget the whole exercise repeats. Odoo core has no notion of the FIEBDC-3 hierarchy or its fixed-format ~V/~C/~D/~M record grammar, so out of the box there is no bridge between the estimating world and the ERP.
We build a made-to-order Odoo module that ingests BC3/FIEBDC-3 files and turns them into structured, native Odoo data. Technically, it adds a parser service that reads the file's declared character set and version header, tokenises each ~-delimited record type, and rebuilds the concept tree from the ~C (concept), ~D (decomposition) and ~M (measurement) relationships — respecting the hierarchical codes, price types, and the decimal/date conventions the format uses. A new set of models (models.Model with proper _parent_name/_parent_store hierarchy for the chapter tree) stores each imported concept, its unit, its unit price with the decomposed cost breakdown, and its measurement lines with the length/width/height/quantity formula fields. compute/@api.depends fields roll measured quantities and decomposed prices up the tree so a chapter total always reconciles to its work units. From that staging tree we map records onto whatever native target your workflow needs — product.product/product.template for the concept catalogue, sale.order/purchase.order lines, or project/analytic cost lines — with a configurable code-to-product matching rule so re-imports update existing concepts instead of duplicating them.
The module ships as a normal Odoo addon: a versioned __manifest__.py, an import wizard built as an OWL/XML view with an upload widget and a mapping-preview step, QWeb reports for the reconstructed budget and measurement sheets, and optional automated actions to notify a reviewer when a new budget version is detected. Access is locked down with ir.model.access.csv plus record rules so imports and the concept catalogue are scoped to the right company and users, and the parser is also exposed over the standard XML-RPC/JSON-RPC API so an upstream estimating pipeline can push a BC3 file in unattended. It targets Odoo 17.0, 18.0 and 19.0 and works on Community; where your target flow depends on Enterprise-only apps (for example advanced accounting or full project financials) we wire to those cleanly and note the dependency up front.
Delivery is build-to-order: we start with a short scoping call to confirm which BC3 versions and source tools you export from, the exact Odoo target records you want populated, and your matching/versioning rules, then we build on a staging instance, run UAT against your real budget files, and hand over installable source, documentation, and a git repository. This is not an instant download — typical delivery is 2-4 weeks from confirmed scope. Pricing starts from $249 (indicative, single-company base scope); multi-company rollout, mapping into additional target documents, deeper measurement-formula handling, and large historical-budget migration increase the quoted scope.
Owns the budget-to-ERP handoff and is tired of re-keying hundreds of concept codes and measurements. Needs BC3 files to land in Odoo as sale/purchase lines with the chapter hierarchy intact and re-imports that update rather than duplicate.
Delivering an Odoo project for a builder or engineering firm and needs a reliable FIEBDC-3 bridge they can install, brand-neutrally support, and hand over with source and docs rather than build from scratch under deadline.
Runs analytic accounting and project budgets in Odoo and wants the estimated budget imported as a cost baseline so actuals can be compared against the original BC3 breakdown, with totals that reconcile up the chapter tree.
Runs the Odoo instance and needs the importer to be a clean, versioned addon with proper access control, an unattended API path for the estimating pipeline, and a git repo their team can maintain.
| المعيار | ECOSIRE | بناء مخصص | منافس | أودو الأصلي |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| BC3/FIEBDC-3 format support | Full ~V/~C/~D/~M parser tailored to your export tools | Whatever your team hand-builds | Generic parser, limited version/encoding coverage | |
| Fit to your workflow | Mapped to your exact Odoo target records in scoping | Fully bespoke but built from zero | Fixed behaviour, take it as-is | |
| Concept hierarchy & roll-ups | _parent_store tree with compute reconciliation | Depends on in-house skill | Often flat import, weak totals | |
| Re-import / versioning | Idempotent code-matching, update not duplicate | Must be designed and tested by you | Frequently re-creates duplicates | |
| Delivery model | Build-to-order, 2-4 weeks, UAT + rollback | Long internal project, self-managed | Instant download, self-integrate | |
| Source & handover | Full source + git repo + docs handed over | You own it but carry all the effort | Source varies; support is generic | |
| Support | Named post-go-live window + optional ongoing | Your team only | Generic vendor queue | |
| Cost profile | From $249 indicative, fixed quote after scoping | High developer time, unpredictable | Low sticker price, integration effort on you |
No. This is a build-to-order module that ECOSIRE builds, installs, and supports specifically for your BC3 versions, source tools, and Odoo target records. You request a quotation, we scope it, and we deliver the finished addon — there is no instant download.
Typical delivery is 2-4 weeks from confirmed scope. After the scoping call we build on a staging instance, run UAT against your real BC3 files, and then install on production. Larger scopes (multi-company, heavy data migration, extra target documents) extend that timeline, which we confirm before you commit.
Pricing starts from $249 as an indicative single-company base-scope figure. It is not a fixed price: after a short scoping call we send a fixed written quote based on the BC3 versions involved, the Odoo target records, multi-company needs, and any historical-budget migration. You approve the fixed quote before work begins.
We build for Odoo 17.0, 18.0, and 19.0, and it runs on Community. If your desired target flow depends on Enterprise-only apps (for example advanced accounting or full project financials), we wire into those and flag the dependency during scoping so there are no surprises.
Delivery includes a post-go-live support window for defect fixes and questions. Because you receive the full source and a git repository, your team can maintain it, and we can quote a separate ongoing support or version-upgrade arrangement (for example moving from 18.0 to 19.0) when you need it.
No. The importer uses a configurable code-matching rule so a re-imported budget updates existing concepts by their code rather than creating new ones. The mapping-preview step lets you review and accept or skip changed rows before anything is committed.
Yes. Beyond the interactive OWL upload wizard, the parser is exposed over the standard XML-RPC/JSON-RPC API, so an upstream estimating pipeline can submit a BC3 file for unattended import, subject to the same validation and access rules.
