Progress and completion are compute fields with @api.depends on the underlying lesson-completion and quiz-result records, so a learner's percent-complete, pass/fail status, and certificate eligibility are always derived, never hand-maintained. Access is locked down with ir.model.access.csv plus record rules so a learner sees only their own enrollments and results while instructors and administrators get the wider view, and multi-company record rules keep training data scoped per company where you need that. The learner and catalog experience is delivered through Odoo views (XML backend forms/kanban plus OWL and website/portal templates for the front end), certificates are generated as QWeb PDF reports, and reminders, enrollment nudges, or manager escalations run through scheduled/automated actions.

Because it lives inside Odoo, the platform integrates rather than sits beside your ERP. Completion of a mandatory course can flip a field on the employee record, satisfy an onboarding checklist, or (via automated action) create an activity for a manager. Paid courses can be sold as products through your existing Sales flow, and everything is reachable over the XML-RPC/JSON-RPC API for reporting dashboards, an LMS mobile shell, or a data warehouse feed. We build against your target — Odoo 17.0, 18.0, or 19.0 — and are explicit about Community vs Enterprise: the module runs on Community, and where a capability leans on an Enterprise-only dependency we tell you up front and design a Community-safe path or confirm your Enterprise entitlement before committing scope.
