Nonprofits run their finances in Odoo but their fundraising in spreadsheets, email inboxes and a patchwork of tools. Donations land as untagged bank statement lines, pledges live in a shared sheet nobody trusts, recurring givers churn silently, and year-end tax receipts become a frantic manual reconciliation. Odoo core gives you res.partner, invoices and account.payment, but it has no first-class concept of a gift, a pledge schedule, a soft-credit, a campaign appeal, or a donor's lifetime value — so development teams end up bending the sales pipeline into a shape it was never meant to hold. That is exactly where a generic off-the-shelf apps.odoo.com module also runs out of road: it captures a donation record but leaves the fund accounting, receipting compliance and stewardship workflow to you.
We build a purpose-fit donor management layer on top of your Odoo. At its core is a donor.gift model with @api.depends computed fields for lifetime value, first-gift and last-gift dates, and recency/frequency/monetary segmentation, plus a donor.pledge model that generates a scheduled installment plan and reconciles incoming account.payment records against expected pledge lines. Campaigns and appeals are modeled explicitly (fundraising.campaign with cost, target and computed net-raised / ROI), so every gift carries an attributable source. We extend res.partner with donor-specific fields — giving tier, communication preferences, hard vs. soft credit relationships, and Gift Aid / tax-deductibility flags where your jurisdiction requires them. Access is governed properly through ir.model.access.csv and record rules so that a campaign officer sees their donors while finance retains control of the ledger, and multi-company record rules keep chapters or entities isolated when you run more than one.
On the operations side we wire base.automation automated actions for the stewardship journey: acknowledgement tasks the moment a gift posts, lapsed-donor alerts when recency crosses a threshold, and pledge-reminder activities before each installment is due. QWeb report templates produce branded tax receipts and annual giving statements as PDFs, batchable across a donor segment. OWL/XML views give fundraisers a donor 360 — a clean form with a gift timeline, pledge status and campaign attribution — and dashboards for pipeline, retention and campaign performance. Everything is exposed over Odoo's XML-RPC/JSON-RPC API so your donation forms, payment processor webhooks or a marketing platform can create gifts and update donors programmatically, and we can build against Community or Enterprise depending on which accounting and reporting features your edition provides.
Because this is built to order, delivery follows a defined path rather than a download. After a short scoping call we confirm your data model, receipting rules, campaign taxonomy and integrations, then build and test your version against a staging copy of your database, run UAT with your team, and cut over with a rollback plan. You receive the installable source, the git repository, technical and user documentation, and a post-go-live support window. Typical delivery is 2 to 4 weeks from confirmed scope, targeting Odoo 17.0, 18.0 or 19.0. Pricing starts from $249 (indicative, single-company base scope); multi-entity setups, payment-processor and marketing integrations, jurisdiction-specific receipting/Gift Aid compliance, and the volume of historical donor data to migrate increase the quoted scope.
Runs annual and major-gift campaigns and needs attributable ROI, donor retention metrics and a reliable pledge pipeline instead of a spreadsheet — wants campaign performance visible without asking finance to run a query.
Owns the Odoo ledger and receipting compliance. Needs gifts to reconcile cleanly against `account.payment`, restricted funds tracked separately, and audit-ready tax receipts generated in batch at year-end.
Maintains the existing Odoo deployment and wants a properly-secured module with clean record rules, documented models and a git repo — not a fragile customization bolted onto the sales pipeline.
Manages the donor relationship day to day and needs automated acknowledgements, lapsed-donor alerts and a single donor 360 view to keep supporters engaged and giving.
| المعيار | ECOSIRE | بناء مخصص | منافس | أودو الأصلي |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gift & pledge data model | Purpose-built `donor.gift` / `donor.pledge` models with computed LTV and installment reconciliation | Whatever your developer models from scratch, at full hourly cost | Basic donation record, often bent from the sales pipeline | |
| Tax receipts & statements | Branded QWeb PDF receipts and annual statements, batchable by segment | Built to spec but from zero, you define every template | Generic receipt, rarely jurisdiction-aware | |
| Campaign ROI & attribution | `fundraising.campaign` with cost, target and computed net-raised / ROI per gift | Possible but scoped and coded per project | Simple campaign tag, usually no cost/ROI math | |
| Security & access control | Tailored `ir.model.access.csv` groups plus record rules and multi-company isolation | Depends entirely on developer discipline | Fixed groups you cannot easily reshape | |
| Stewardship automation | `base.automation` acknowledgements, lapsed alerts and pledge reminders configured for you | Buildable, billed as extra effort | Limited or no automated stewardship | |
| Fit to your process | Scoped to your funds, taxonomy and receipting rules before a line is written | Fully bespoke, at the highest cost and timeline | You adapt your process to the module's assumptions | |
| Ownership & maintainability | Full source, git repo handover, docs and a support window | You own it, but carry all design and QA risk | Vendor-locked, closed roadmap | |
| Total cost & risk | Fixed quote from an indicative $249 base after scoping, delivered in 2–4 weeks | Open-ended hourly, highest delivery risk | Low sticker price but hidden adaptation and gap cost |
This is a build-to-order module, not an instant download. Typical delivery is 2 to 4 weeks from confirmed scope. The clock starts after our scoping call, once your data model, receipting rules, campaign taxonomy and integrations are agreed. Larger data migrations or multiple integrations extend the timeline, which we confirm in the fixed quote.
Pricing starts from $249 as an indicative from-price for a single-company base scope. After a short scoping call we issue a fixed written quote. Drivers that raise it include multi-entity/multi-company setups, payment-processor and marketing integrations, jurisdiction-specific receipting or Gift Aid compliance, and the volume of historical donor data to migrate. You approve the fixed quote before we build.
Every engagement includes a post-go-live support window for defect fixes and configuration questions. You receive the full git repository and source, so your own team or ours can maintain it. Version upgrades (for example moving from Odoo 17.0 to 18.0 or 19.0) or new capability beyond the delivered scope are quoted as a separate change — we document the upgrade path so it's predictable.
Both. We build against Odoo 17.0, 18.0 or 19.0 on Community or Enterprise. Some reporting and accounting features differ by edition, so during scoping we confirm which capabilities your edition provides and design the module — for example the depth of analytic reporting for restricted funds — to fit it. We tell you upfront if a requirement genuinely needs Enterprise.
It sits on top of your existing ledger rather than replacing it. Gifts and pledges reconcile against native `account.payment` and journal entries, restricted funds carry analytic tags for separate reporting, and receipts are generated from the same posted records finance already trusts. We integrate with your chart of accounts and journals during the build, not around them.
Yes. Migrating historical donors, gifts and pledges is a common part of scope. We map your source data to the new models, load it into staging first, and validate lifetime-value and segmentation computations against your known totals before go-live. Migration volume and source-data quality are among the factors that affect the quote.
Through Odoo's XML-RPC/JSON-RPC API. Your website donation form, a payment-processor webhook or a marketing platform can create `donor.gift` records and update donors programmatically. We build and document the integration endpoints you need as part of scope; each additional integration is a scope driver reflected in the quote.
