Your team talks to customers on messaging platforms all day, but that conversation lives outside Odoo. An agent opening a res.partner, a sale.order, or a crm.lead sees the internal chatter — emails, log notes, activities — but not the actual back-and-forth that closed the deal or raised the complaint. So they alt-tab to a phone or a separate inbox, copy-paste fragments, and lose the thread. Odoo's native chatter (mail.thread / mail.message) was built for internal collaboration and email; it has no concept of an external messaging conversation keyed to a contact's phone number or handle, and no typical off-the-shelf apps.odoo.com module reconstructs that history natively inside the record you are already looking at.
We build a module that renders a contact-matched messaging conversation history as a dedicated section in the chatter of any form you nominate. Technically, we add a mixin that resolves the current record to a contact identity — matching on res.partner phone/mobile normalized via the phone_validation helpers, email, or a custom external-id field — then queries your message store and streams the matched thread into an OWL component embedded alongside the standard chatter. Messages are modeled in a dedicated models.Model with @api.depends computes for direction, timestamp bucketing, and sender resolution; the view layer is QWeb/OWL so inbound and outbound bubbles, media placeholders, and delivery status render inline without leaving the form.
Ingestion is designed around whatever you already have. If your messaging conversations reach Odoo through an existing gateway, webhook, or export, we normalize them into the module's model on a scheduled ir.cron automated action or a real-time controller endpoint; if the data lives in an external system, we read it over the XML-RPC/JSON-RPC API or a REST bridge and cache it against the partner. Access is locked down with ir.model.access.csv plus record rules so an agent only ever sees conversations for contacts within their own sales team, company, or assigned scope, and the whole thing respects multi-company boundaries. The build targets Odoo 17.0, 18.0, and 19.0, works on both Community and Enterprise (Enterprise-only widgets are used only where you run Enterprise), and ships with a clean __manifest__.py and dependency declaration.
