Receive a dataverse operations signal, validate its source and required fields, resolve table, row and alternate key, apply the approval control decision rules, write the approved state, then record a correlated audit result. The source event is dataverse.approve.requested; the resulting audit event is dataverse.approve.recorded. The mapped business surface is table, row and alternate key.

Technical approach

The scoped design may use Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, standard or custom connectors, managed solutions, DLP policies, environment variables, ALM pipelines. Authentication is based on Microsoft Entra application or connection references using least-privilege identities. The implementation accounts for Power Platform request limits, connector throttles, flow concurrency and Dataverse service protection limits.

Failure and reconciliation design

Every request uses the idempotency key power-platform-dataverse-approve:source-id:revision. Retryable transport and throttle responses enter bounded backoff; validation and mapping failures enter a visible exception queue. A reconciliation pass compares source revision, target identifier and recorded state, then permits controlled replay without duplicating the business action.
