Most plants run production inside ERPNext but track energy in a parallel universe of utility-meter spreadsheets, SCADA exports, and monthly invoices that nobody can tie back to a specific work order or product. When the CFO asks "what did last month's overtime shift cost in electricity?" or the sustainability team needs verified kWh-per-unit figures for an ESG or ISO 50001 report, the answer takes days of manual reconciliation. ERPNext core has no concept of a utility meter, a consumption reading, a load profile, or an energy-per-unit KPI — Work Orders capture labour and material cost but treat energy as invisible overhead, and there is no native DocType to hold interval meter data or raise an alert when a compressor draws twice its baseline.
Dedicated Frappe `energy_monitoring` app and module, installed via `bench install-app`, clean-migrating with `bench migrate`
`Utility Meter` DocType typed for electricity, gas, water and compressed air, linked to Workstation, production line, or Cost Center
`Meter Reading` DocType storing interval data (kWh, m3, CFM) with unit-consistency validation on insert
Whitelisted REST endpoints (`@frappe.whitelist()`) so PLC gateways, SCADA bridges, or IoT hubs POST readings to `/api/method/...`
`hooks.py` doc events on Work Order and Job Card that compute run-time consumption and post an energy cost line into manufacturing cost
`Energy Tariff` DocType supporting time-of-use bands, peak-demand charges, and per-utility rates for accurate cost allocation
ECOSIRE builds a dedicated Frappe application (its own energy_monitoring app and module, installed via bench get-app and bench install-app) that makes energy a first-class citizen of your ERPNext instance. We model the physical estate with new DocTypes — Utility Meter (typed for electricity, gas, water or compressed air, linked to a Workstation, production line, or cost center), Meter Reading for interval data, Energy Tariff for time-of-use and peak-demand rates, and Energy KPI for ISO 50001 energy-performance indicators (EnPIs) and baselines. Readings arrive through whitelisted REST endpoints (@frappe.whitelist() methods your PLC gateway, SCADA bridge, or IoT hub POSTs to via /api/method/...) or scheduled pulls, and are validated on the way in.
The engine is wired into ERPNext's own transaction flow. hooks.py doc events on Work Order and Job Card compute the energy consumed during a run from the linked workstation's metered interval, apply the active Energy Tariff, and post an energy cost line so it flows into landed manufacturing cost and margin analysis — energy stops being a lump of unallocated overhead. scheduler_events (cron and hourly hooks) roll interval readings into load profiles, recompute EnPIs against baseline, and evaluate anomaly rules that fire an alert (in-app Notification, email, or webhook) when consumption spikes beyond a configurable threshold or deviates from the expected profile for that machine. Client Scripts and custom Frappe dashboards give the plant team peak-demand curves, per-line and per-product intensity, and drill-downs from a plant total straight to a single Job Card. Role Profiles and DocType permissions keep meter configuration with engineering while giving finance and sustainability read access to the numbers they need.
Because this is build-to-order, nothing ships until we agree on scope. You request a quotation and we run a short scoping call to map your meters, tariffs, integration points (SCADA/PLC/IoT protocol, CSV, or manual entry), and which EnPIs and reports you need. We then build against your ERPNext version (v15 or v16), deliver on a staging site for UAT, and only after you sign off do we install to production with a rollback plan. Typical delivery is 2 to 4 weeks from confirmed scope depending on integration complexity, and you receive the full source code and git repository so you are never locked in.
Owns cost-reduction and ESG targets and needs verifiable kWh-per-unit, peak-demand, and load-profile data tied to real production events, not month-end spreadsheet guesses. Wants anomaly alerts before a runaway compressor shows up on the invoice.
Runs Work Orders and Job Cards in ERPNext and wants energy cost folded into true manufacturing cost so shift, line, and product decisions reflect what they actually consume in electricity, gas, water, and compressed air.
Must produce auditable ISO 50001 EnPIs and CO2e figures for reporting and certification. Needs baselines, period-over-period intensity, and a clean export straight from ERPNext rather than reconciled third-party data.
Wants energy allocated to cost centers and products for accurate margins and budgeting, with read-only access to consumption and tariff data governed by ERPNext role profiles.

| المعيار | ECOSIRE | بناء مخصص | منافس | أودو الأصلي |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Energy cost on work orders | Posted automatically via Work Order/Job Card doc events | Possible but you build the hooks logic yourself | Rarely offered; generic apps ignore manufacturing cost | |
| Meter data model | Purpose-built Utility Meter and Meter Reading DocTypes | Designed from scratch each time | Fixed schema, often electricity-only | |
| Multi-utility (gas/water/air) | Electricity, gas, water and compressed air modeled together | Whatever you specify and pay to build | Usually electricity-focused | |
| ISO 50001 EnPIs | EnPI and baseline tracking built to your reporting needs | Buildable with significant analyst effort | Generic KPIs, seldom ISO-aligned | |
| Anomaly / spike alerts | Configurable thresholds via scheduler events and Notifications | You design and maintain the rule engine | Basic or absent | |
| Fit to your ERPNext version | Built and tested on your v15/v16 target | Depends on your team's ERPNext depth | Whatever the app supports, upgrade at their pace | |
| Code ownership | Full source and git repo handed over | You own it, but carry all build cost | Licensed, often closed or subscription-locked | |
| Support after go-live | Included support window plus optional agreement | Only if you retain the original developer | Vendor SLA, variable quality |
No. This is a build-to-order ERPNext application that ECOSIRE scopes, builds, installs, and supports specifically for your plant. There is no instant download — we build it against your ERPNext version and your meter, tariff, and integration requirements, then hand over the full source and git repository.
Typically 2 to 4 weeks from confirmed scope. The exact timeline depends on integration complexity — a manual/CSV entry setup is faster than a live SCADA, PLC, or IoT protocol bridge. We confirm the schedule in the quotation after the scoping call, and you approve on staging (UAT) before we install to production.
We build for Frappe/ERPNext v15 and v16. Tell us your exact version and hosting (Frappe Cloud, self-hosted bench, or a managed provider) on the scoping call and we build and test against that target so it migrates cleanly with `bench migrate`.
The app exposes whitelisted REST endpoints your existing gateway, SCADA system, IoT hub, or a scheduled job can POST readings to, and it also supports guided manual entry via Client Scripts when a site has no automated feed. We do not sell hardware; during scoping we map how your meters currently expose data and build the ingestion path that fits.
Doc events in `hooks.py` on Work Order and Job Card compute consumption over the run interval from the linked workstation's meter readings, apply the active `Energy Tariff` (including time-of-use and peak-demand bands), and post an energy cost line so it flows into ERPNext manufacturing cost and margin reporting.
Every build includes a post-go-live support window for bug fixes and configuration tweaks, scoped in the quotation. Because you receive the full git repository, your own team can also extend the app. Ongoing maintenance, new features, or upgrades to a future ERPNext version can be arranged as a separate support agreement.
You own it. We hand over the complete source and git repository at delivery. Nothing is obfuscated or license-locked, so you are free to self-maintain, audit, or bring in another developer.
