عن هذا المنتج
Cross-border ERPNext shippers hit the same wall: ERPNext core has a Shipment DocType and a generic parcel-service framework, but it ships with no first-class DHL Express integration. That leaves teams re-keying weights and dimensions into the MyDHL portal, guessing at landed rates during quoting, hand-typing commercial invoices, and copy-pasting tracking numbers back into ERPNext by hand. Every manual hop is a chance for a wrong Incoterm, a mismatched HS code, a customs hold, or a shipment that leaves without a booked pickup. Native ERPNext simply was not built to talk to the DHL Express MyDHL API directly.
We build a proper Frappe app — its own module, DocTypes, and hooks.py — that makes DHL Express a native shipping option inside ERPNext. Rate requests call the DHL Express /rates endpoint from a whitelisted server method and return time-definite service options with landed cost, so your team quotes with real numbers instead of estimates. From a submitted Delivery Note, a hooks.py doc event (or a one-click client script button) posts to the DHL /shipments endpoint, receives the tracking number and a base64 label, and stores the label PDF as a File attached to the shipment. A dedicated DHL Shipment DocType records the AWB, piece IDs, declared value, Incoterm, and raw API request/response for audit and re-print.
Customs is handled where it belongs — in the payload. The app maps your ERPNext Item HS codes, country of origin, and declared values into DHL's export-declaration and paperless-trade structure, and generates the commercial/proforma invoice as a Frappe Print Format so the documents that cross the border match the documents in your system. A scheduler_events hook polls the DHL /tracking endpoint (or ingests webhook callbacks where enabled) and writes status milestones back onto the shipment and linked Delivery Note, with optional Notifications to your ops team. Pickup scheduling calls the DHL /pickups endpoint so a courier is booked in the same flow that creates the label — no separate portal visit.
Everything is permission-aware and version-safe: DHL API credentials live in an encrypted single DHL Settings DocType, actions are gated by a Role Profile you approve, and the app is built and tested against ERPNext v15/v16 so it survives bench update. Because it is a real app in its own git repo — not fragile customizations glued onto stock DocTypes — you own the source and can extend it.
This is build-to-order: nothing is a pre-packaged instant download. We start with a short scoping call to confirm your DHL account setup (export account, Incoterms, service types, origins/destinations), then build against your ERPNext instance. Typical delivery is one working week from confirmed scope. You get the work validated on a staging copy through UAT before we touch production, plus a rollback plan, documentation, a training session, and a defined post-go-live support window.

لمن هذا
Cross-border eCommerce operations lead
Ships internationally on DHL Express and needs labels, customs invoices, and tracking generated straight from ERPNext Delivery Notes instead of the MyDHL portal, so the team stops re-keying and mis-declaring shipments.
ERPNext-run exporter or distributor
Runs the whole business on ERPNext v15/v16 and wants DHL rating, booking, and customs paperwork native to the order-to-ship flow, with HS codes and Incoterms mapped from existing Item and shipping data.
Finance / compliance manager
Needs the commercial invoice and export declaration that cross the border to match the ERPNext system of record, with declared values, duty responsibility, and an audit trail of every DHL API call.
ERPNext administrator or systems integrator
Wants a real Frappe app in its own git repo — DocTypes, hooks.py, scheduler events, encrypted credentials — that survives bench update, rather than brittle client-side customizations bolted onto stock DocTypes.
كيف يقارن ERPNext DHL Express Connector.
| المعيار | ECOSIRE | بناء مخصص | منافس | ERPNext الأصلي |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| DHL Express integration | Native app: rates, labels, customs, tracking, pickups | Build every endpoint yourself from scratch | Often rating/labels only, gaps on customs | No DHL integration in core |
| Fit to your workflow | Scoped to your Delivery Note flow and DHL account | Fully bespoke but you carry the design risk | Generic; you adapt to its assumptions | Manual re-keying into MyDHL portal |
| Customs / commercial invoice | Auto-generated from Item HS codes and declared values | Must design HS/Incoterm mapping yourself | Varies; often partial or manual | Hand-typed outside ERPNext |
| Tracking writeback | Scheduler poll/webhook updates the Delivery Note | You build and maintain the poller | Sometimes included, sometimes add-on | Copy-paste tracking numbers by hand |
| Version safety (v15/v16) | Pinned, tested, survives bench update | Depends on your team's discipline | Depends on vendor's update cadence | N/A — nothing to maintain |
| Code ownership | Full git repo handover, unobfuscated | You own it entirely | Often license-locked or closed | N/A |
| Time to value | one working week from confirmed scope, UAT first | Months of in-house dev and testing | Fast install but rework to fit | Immediate, but manual forever |
| Support model | Post-go-live window + training, extendable | Your own team owns all fixes | Marketplace ticket queue, variable SLA | Community forum only |
الأسئلة المتداولة حول ERPNext DHL Express Connector
How long until it is live on our ERPNext instance?
This is build-to-order, not an instant download. After a short scoping call to confirm your DHL account, service types, and Delivery Note workflow, typical delivery is one working week from confirmed scope. We validate on a staging copy through UAT before any production change.
Does this work with our ERPNext version?
Yes. We build and test against Frappe/ERPNext v15 and v16, and pin the app to your version so it survives `bench update`. Tell us your exact version on the scoping call and we build against it.
What do we need from DHL to use it?
A DHL Express business account with API access to the MyDHL API (rates, shipments, tracking, and pickups). You provide the account number, API credentials, and your configured Incoterms and export account. We walk you through the sandbox-to-production cutover.
How do customs documents get generated?
The app maps your ERPNext Item HS codes, country of origin, and declared values into DHL's export-declaration and paperless-trade payload, and generates the commercial or proforma invoice as a Frappe Print Format so the border documents match your system of record.
How is tracking kept up to date in ERPNext?
A Frappe `scheduler_events` job polls the DHL tracking endpoint (or ingests webhook callbacks where your account supports them) and writes status milestones back onto the DHL Shipment and linked Delivery Note, with optional Notifications to your ops team.
What about support and updates after go-live?
Every build includes a defined post-go-live support window for defect fixes and configuration adjustments. Because you receive the full git repository, your team or ours can extend it later; ongoing support and DHL API-change maintenance can be arranged as a separate agreement.
Do we own the code, or is it locked to you?
You own it. The app is delivered as a versioned Frappe app in its own git repository with full source and technical documentation. Nothing is obfuscated or license-locked to ECOSIRE.
