The extension collects trial-balance and G/L data across companies in the same tenant and, where entities live in separate environments, pulls them in through the Business Central REST/OData v4 API into a consolidation workspace. Source-currency balances are translated using configurable rate types (closing rate for the balance sheet, average rate for P&L) with a calculated currency-translation adjustment. Intercompany balances and transactions are eliminated automatically through rule-based elimination entries you review before posting. Partial ownership is handled with ownership-percentage and minority-interest calculations per subsidiary.
Output is a set of consolidated financial statements — balance sheet, income statement and equity movement — with drill-down from any consolidated line back to the originating company's G/L entries. Account-schedule / Financial Reporting layouts are provided so finance can refresh figures on demand. Long-running collection and translation runs are scheduled through the BC job queue; access is governed by dedicated permission sets; and consolidated datasets can optionally surface in Power BI via Dataverse / the Power Platform. This is a build-to-order extension, not a one-click marketplace install. After a short scoping call to capture your entity structure, ownership percentages, currencies and account mapping, typical delivery is around 3 to 5 weeks: we build and test the AL extension in a sandbox, validate a full consolidation run against your data, then install it on production. The exact timeline depends on the number of entities and whether any sit in separate Business Central environments.
ECOSIRE installs the extension as your private per-tenant app and supports it after go-live. Because Microsoft ships major Business Central updates twice a year, we test the extension against each upcoming release and provide compatibility updates so it keeps working through platform upgrades. Cross-environment collection uses the Business Central REST/OData API authenticated against your tenants, and consolidated data stays in Business Central. Optional Power BI reporting flows through your own Dataverse / Power Platform — there is no shared ECOSIRE multi-tenant database and no third-party data hosting.
Yes. Companies within the same tenant are read directly. Subsidiaries in separate BC environments are collected through the REST/OData v4 API into the consolidation workspace, so a group spread across multiple tenants or on-premises instances can still be consolidated into one set of statements.
You configure elimination rules for intercompany receivables/payables, revenue/cost and investment-versus-equity. Each consolidation run generates proposed elimination entries that finance reviews before posting, with a reconciliation log flagging anything unbalanced. Minority interest is calculated from the ownership percentage you set per subsidiary, so non-controlling interests appear correctly in equity and net income.
