E-Signature & Contract Approval for WooCommerce closes the gap WooCommerce core leaves wide open: there is no native way to make a customer sign a binding agreement before they pay or download. We build a custom plugin that attaches signable contracts to specific products, categories, or whole orders and blocks the checkout (woocommerce_checkout_process) or the download (woocommerce_download_product / woocommerce_account_downloads_column_download-actions) until every required party has signed.
Each signing event is captured as a custom post type (esign_signature) with the signer's name, typed or drawn signature, hashed document version, IP address, user agent, and a UTC timestamp — a tamper-evident UETA/ESIGN-compliant audit trail you can export as PDF evidence. Signatures and PII are encrypted at rest. The plugin is HPOS-ready (WooCommerce custom order tables), so signature metadata maps cleanly onto orders whether you run legacy post meta or the new high-performance order storage.
Contracts are authored as templates with merge tags ({billing_company}, {order_total}, {product_name}, custom fields) and editable signer fields, rendered per order. Multi-signer flows route the agreement to additional parties by email; WP-Cron drives reminder emails and expiry. Everything is exposed in wp-admin under a dedicated settings screen and through the WooCommerce REST API for your CRM or DMS.
