Indian shoppers overwhelmingly pay by UPI, yet most Shopify checkouts bury it behind generic gateway redirects that leak conversions. UPI & Wallets Checkout for Shopify (India) is a focused checkout layer that puts PhonePe, Google Pay and Paytm front-and-centre with native UPI intent deep-links on mobile and scannable QR on desktop — engineered around your store's real acquirer relationship with Razorpay or Cashfree.
This is not an instant App Store install. ECOSIRE builds, configures and deploys this for your specific store as a tailored solution. We register a Custom App in your Shopify Admin, request only the scopes we need (read_orders, write_orders, read_checkouts, read_products), and integrate via the Admin GraphQL API and checkout/order webhooks (orders/create, orders/paid, checkouts/update). Payment state is reconciled against your acquirer's webhooks so an order is only marked paid after the UPI collect or intent callback is verified — no optimistic, unverified completions.
We wire UPI Autopay (e-mandate) for subscription and repeat-billing flows where your acquirer supports recurring mandates, handle INR rounding and tax display correctly, and store integration state in Shopify metafields so configuration travels with your store. Redirect friction is minimised: on a supported plan we surface UPI as an Additional Payment Method / accelerated option rather than a multi-hop redirect chase.

Is this an instant Shopify App Store download?
No. This is a build-to-order solution. ECOSIRE registers a Custom App in your Shopify Admin and builds, configures and installs the UPI checkout layer for your specific store, theme and acquirer. There is no public App Store listing to click-install — we deliver and support it directly.
How long until it's live (delivery lead time)?
A standard build typically takes about one working week from kickoff: scoping and acquirer confirmation, build and integration, a staging validation pass, then go-live. Timelines depend on your Shopify plan, whether Razorpay or Cashfree is already set up, and whether UPI Autopay/e-mandates are in scope. We confirm a firm date during scoping.
What ongoing support and updates do I get?
Every build includes a post-launch support window for bug fixes, configuration tweaks and adapting to acquirer or Shopify API changes. After it ends you can continue on a support retainer. We do not silently push changes — updates are coordinated with you, validated on staging where relevant, and shipped with a rollback path.
Do I need a Razorpay or Cashfree account?
Yes. This layer routes UPI and wallet payments through your own acquirer relationship with Razorpay or Cashfree, so you keep your settlement, KYC and pricing. We integrate with the account you already have (or help you scope getting one); we are not a payment processor and never take custody of funds.
Can it handle UPI subscriptions and recurring billing?
Yes, where your acquirer supports UPI Autopay (e-mandates). We configure the mandate setup and reconcile renewal charges via webhooks so paid status is verified, not assumed. Exact recurring capability depends on your acquirer's mandate support, which we confirm during scoping rather than promising blindly.
Will it interfere with my existing checkout or other payment methods?
No. It is built to add UPI/wallets as an accelerated or additional payment option alongside what you already offer. We integrate via the Admin GraphQL API and verified webhooks, store config in metafields, and validate on staging before go-live so your current checkout and other gateways keep working.
