High-COD markets in India, MENA and Southeast Asia live and die by their return-to-origin (RTO) rate. Fake numbers, impulse orders and abusive repeat-refusers quietly burn your shipping, packing and reverse-logistics budget. The COD Order Verification & Fee Manager is a Shopify app ECOSIRE builds for your store to attack that problem at the point of order.

This is build-to-order, not a one-click App Store install. After purchase, ECOSIRE creates an embedded Shopify app for your store, installs it via OAuth, and configures it to your catalog, shipping zones and SMS/WhatsApp provider. You get a real working app inside your Shopify admin — not a template you have to wire up yourself.

What it does. When a COD order is placed, a Shopify orders/create webhook fires verification: the buyer receives an OTP over SMS or WhatsApp and must confirm before the order is released to fulfilment. Unverified or refused orders are held, tagged, or cancelled per your rules. A configurable COD fee (fixed or percentage) is added at checkout or as an order adjustment. COD limits by order value, destination zip/pincode and weight stop high-risk orders before they ship. A COD-to-prepaid incentive offers a discount to switch to an online payment, recovering margin on the orders most likely to bounce.

Built on the Admin GraphQL API, Shopify webhooks, and order metafields for an audit trail of every verification attempt. We respect your theme and checkout — no fragile script hacks. Is this an instant Shopify App Store download?

No. This is a build-to-order app. After purchase, ECOSIRE builds the app for your store and installs it into your Shopify admin via OAuth. It is configured to your catalog, shipping zones and messaging provider rather than shipped as a generic one-size-fits-all app.

How long does delivery and setup take?

A standard build is typically delivered and installed within 7-14 business days from purchase, depending on your messaging provider and the complexity of your COD rules. We confirm the exact timeline after a short scoping call. Provider credentials being ready on your side speeds this up significantly.

What ongoing support and updates are included?

The 249 USD price covers the build, installation and a post-launch support window for bug fixes and configuration tweaks. Beyond that, ECOSIRE offers ongoing support and Shopify API compatibility maintenance as an optional retainer, so the app keeps working as Shopify deprecates API versions over time.

Which SMS and WhatsApp providers do you support?

We integrate with common gateways such as Twilio, MSG91, Gupshup and the WhatsApp Business API, and can connect an existing provider you already use. You supply the provider account and credentials; we wire it into the verification flow and build the message templates in your locales.

Will it work with my theme and Shopify checkout?

Yes. The verification, holding and tagging logic runs server-side via the Admin GraphQL API and webhooks, so it does not depend on fragile theme edits. COD fees are applied via order adjustments or checkout configuration appropriate to your Shopify plan, and the admin UI lives inside Shopify using Polaris and App Bridge.

Can you customize the rules to my specific RTO problem?

That is the main advantage of build-to-order. Because we build the app, we tune the OTP triggers, fee structure, zip/value/weight thresholds, blocking logic and prepaid incentives to the patterns in your actual order data, instead of forcing you into a fixed app's preset options.
