Sales teams routinely send quotations without knowing what each line actually earns. Odoo stores a standard_price (cost) on every product, and reps can discount at will on the sale.order.line, but the native quotation and customer invoice views never place cost, margin amount and margin percentage next to the price where a rep is making the call. The Enterprise "Margins" feature exists but is limited to sale orders, is version- and edition-gated, and does not extend cleanly onto account.move invoice lines or into QWeb reports and pivot analysis. The result is margin leakage discovered only at month-end, when accounting reconciles actual profit against what was sold.

This is a build-to-order module — ECOSIRE designs, builds and installs it for your database; it is not an existing apps.odoo.com download you install yourself. We add stored computed fields for purchase_price (unit cost), margin (amount) and margin_percent to both sale.order.line and account.move.line, with @api.depends-driven compute methods that recalc when quantity, unit price, discount or the sourced cost changes. Cost is resolved with a configurable strategy — product standard_price, the cost frozen at order confirmation, or a landed/replacement cost field you nominate — so historical documents keep the cost that was true at the time. Document-level margin_total and margin_percent roll up onto sale.order and account.move, giving a header figure that mirrors the line detail.

On the interface side we extend the order and invoice line views (XML/OWL) to show the three margin columns inline, with optional colour-banded thresholds so a rep sees at a glance when a discount pushes a line below your floor. Fields are exposed to the studio-style group-by and pivot so managers can analyse margin by salesperson, customer, product category or period without exporting to a spreadsheet. Optional QWeb additions can print internal margin figures on the internal-copy sale order (never the customer PDF), and an optional ir.actions.server / automated action can warn or block confirmation when a line falls under a configurable minimum margin. Access is governed by ir.model.access.csv plus record rules so margin visibility is restricted to the sales-manager and finance groups and never leaks to portal users. Everything is exposed over the standard XML-RPC / JSON-RPC API, so the computed margin fields are readable by your BI tools and external reports.
