Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce ship with no concept of renting a product for a date range — the core catalog assumes you sell a unit and it leaves stock. Rental Product Booking Calendar is a custom Magento 2 module that ECOSIRE builds, installs, and supports on your store so you can rent equipment, vehicles, costumes, or event props with real availability logic.

The extension is delivered as a proper module under app/code/Ecosire/RentalBooking — not a theme hack. It adds a rental product type (or a configurable flag on existing simple products), a front-end date-range calendar on the product page (Knockout/UI component) that calls a GraphQL/REST availability endpoint, and a server-side availability service contract that prevents double-booking by reconciling confirmed reservations against your rentable stock. Pricing supports hourly, daily, and weekly tiers computed through a price plugin (interceptor) so cart, quote, and order totals stay correct.

A plugin on the quote/order flow captures the rental window, a security deposit line item, and configurable late-return fee rules. Observers on sales_order_save_after and a cron job drive return reminders, overdue detection, and deposit reconciliation. A dedicated admin grid (gated by its own ACL resource) lets staff see the booking calendar, mark pickups and returns, and release deposits. Customers choose pickup or shipping fulfillment per booking.

Because it is build-to-order, ECOSIRE tailors the rules to how you actually operate — buffer/cleaning days between bookings, blackout dates, per-SKU rental units, partial-day pricing — rather than forcing your business into a fixed marketplace extension. You get the full source, installed on your instance, with a defined lead time and an ongoing support window. It works on Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce (the same module; B2B/staging features are honored where present).
