Most US merchants outgrow Magento's built-in tax tables fast. Native tax rates are flat zip-code rules that miss rooftop-level jurisdiction boundaries, ignore economic nexus thresholds, and leave you reconciling returns by hand. This extension replaces that guesswork by wiring your store directly into the TaxJar API.
ECOSIRE builds the module as a clean, namespaced package under app/code/Ecosire/TaxJar, following Magento 2 best practices: a Magento\Tax\Api\TaxCalculationInterface plugin/interceptor (via di.xml) that calls TaxJar at quote-collect time, observers on sales_order_invoice_register and sales_order_creditmemo_save_after to push transactions and sync partial and full refunds (credit memos), and a cron job that polls nexus exposure. Calculation results are cached to keep checkout fast and to respect TaxJar rate limits, with a graceful fallback to your configured backup rate if the API is unreachable.
You get a dedicated admin configuration section with proper ACL resources (Ecosire_TaxJar::config), so staff see only what their role allows. Map Magento tax classes to TaxJar product tax categories (e.g., clothing, SaaS, food) so exempt and reduced-rate items calculate correctly. An admin grid surfaces economic nexus alerts as your sales approach each state's threshold, and a reporting view assembles the figures you hand to your filing process or accountant.

How long until the extension is delivered and live on my store?
Because this is built to order for your specific Magento version, theme, and checkout, typical delivery is about one working week from kickoff and TaxJar account access. We install and verify on a staging copy first, then schedule the production cutover with you. Complex multi-store or headless setups may take longer; we confirm the timeline in writing before starting.
What do I need to provide before you start?
An active TaxJar account with an API token (TaxJar's own subscription is separate and billed by TaxJar), admin and SSH/deploy access to a staging environment, and your list of nexus states and product tax treatment. We handle all the Magento engineering and installation.
