The Power BI Connector for Magento is a build-to-order Magento 2 / Adobe Commerce extension that turns your storefront into a governed data source for Microsoft Power BI. There is no instant Marketplace download — ECOSIRE builds, installs, and supports the module on your own Magento install, then delivers a .pbix template wired to your data so your finance and BI teams stop hand-exporting CSVs.
Technically, the connector ships as a module under app/code/Ecosire/PowerBiConnector with di.xml virtual types defining each extract, service contracts (Api/ interfaces + Model/ implementations) exposing curated datasets, and a read-optimized REST/OData endpoint Power BI consumes via Web/OData connectors using OAuth2 bearer tokens scoped by admin ACL. We model directly off the catalog, sales_order, sales_order_item, customer_entity, and inventory (MSI inventory_source_item) tables, exposing flattened, BI-friendly views rather than raw EAV — so Power BI doesn't choke on attribute joins.
Incremental extraction runs on Magento cron (configurable groups), tracking high-water marks per entity so each refresh pulls only changed rows. Observers on events like sales_order_save_after can optionally flag near-real-time deltas. For multi-store and multi-website setups, data is tagged by store_id / website_id so the prebuilt Power BI data model consolidates every storefront into one report — with star-schema templates (date, product, customer, store dimensions) you can extend.

No — this is build-to-order, not a Marketplace download. After a short discovery call to confirm your data scope, KPIs, and refresh cadence, typical delivery is around 2-4 weeks depending on the number of custom datasets, multi-store complexity, and your environment access. We install and validate on staging before production, and the timeline is confirmed in writing before work begins.
Do you provide ongoing support and updates?
Yes. Because ECOSIRE builds and installs the module on your own Magento instance, we include a defined post-launch support window for bug fixes and compatibility with Magento patch releases. Because you own the code, you can also maintain it yourself or extend the dashboards in Power BI Desktop. Longer-term maintenance and Magento/Adobe Commerce major-version upgrade support are available as a separate agreement.
Does it work with both Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce?
Yes. The module is built against standard Magento 2 framework APIs — service contracts, di.xml, cron, observers, and ACL — so it runs on Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce, on-prem or cloud. Adobe Commerce B2B tables and shared catalog data can be included in scope if you use them.
Will it slow down my store or read raw database tables directly?
Extraction runs on Magento cron against read-optimized, flattened datasets exposed through service contracts — not heavy live queries on the storefront request path.
