Labor-intensive manufacturers usually run two disconnected worlds: production output tracked in Business Central, and time clocks tracked in a separate punch system or spreadsheets. Reconciling the two — what an operator actually worked versus what they were paid for — eats supervisor hours and corrupts your real production cost.
Shop Floor Time & Attendance (Barcoded Labor) is a per-tenant AL extension that ECOSIRE builds, installs, and supports directly on your Business Central environment. Operators badge in and out against work badges and job barcodes from a shop-floor terminal, tablet, or wedge scanner. Every scan resolves through a custom Labor Entry table that knows whether time is direct (booked to a Production Order routing line / operation) or indirect (setup, maintenance, cleaning, meetings), and applies your pay rules — shift differentials, overtime thresholds, and break deductions.
Direct labor flows into the production order via event subscribers on Manufacturing capacity ledger and item ledger posting, so your Cost is Right without re-keying. Attendance hours roll up into a daily timecard your supervisors review, edit, and approve through a Business Central approval workflow before they export to payroll.
Because this is a custom build, the data model and pay rules are shaped to your shifts, union or wage agreements, and cost-center structure — not a generic AppSource template you bend to fit. We deliver permission sets, a job queue for nightly rollups, and OData/API endpoints so a kiosk app, Power BI, or a Power Platform / Dataverse flow can read and write labor data.

We develop and validate the extension in your sandbox first, walk you through it, then deploy to production on a scheduled cutover. Complex union pay rules or multiple plants can extend that — we give you a firm timeline in writing after scoping, not a generic promise.
No. This is a build-to-order, per-tenant extension. ECOSIRE builds it specifically for your tenant and installs it directly via the Business Central extension management / admin center — there is no public AppSource listing to self-install. That's deliberate: the pay-rule and cost-center logic is tailored to your operation rather than a one-size-fits-all template you'd have to configure around.
Your support agreement covers compatibility. Business Central pushes major platform updates twice a year; we test the extension against the upcoming release in a sandbox and ship any required fixes so your labor capture keeps working through the upgrade. Ongoing support also covers bug fixes and small configuration changes (new shift, changed overtime rule) under the agreed terms.
No — it feeds it. The extension captures and approves attendance and job hours inside Business Central, then exports approved hours in your payroll provider's import format (or via OData for an integration). Payroll calculation, tax, and pay runs stay in your existing payroll system; this removes the manual re-keying and reconciliation between the time clock and production data.
Anything that can present a badge or job number as input: USB/Bluetooth wedge scanners into a kiosk page, rugged tablets running the Business Central web client, or a custom kiosk front-end talking to our OData/REST endpoints.
