Business Central ships a flat Production BOM card and a separate "BOM" cost report, but it gives manufacturing teams no single place to see a deep product structure — to expand level 3 under level 2 under the finished good, watch the cost accumulate, and ask "can I actually build 200 of these today?" without bouncing between Item Availability, the Production BOM, and routing pages. This extension closes that gap.
Multi-Level BOM Viewer & Manager is an AL extension that adds an indented, fully drillable tree of every Production BOM and its routing — exploding each component down through sub-assemblies to raw material, with cost roll-up, margin, and live availability shown at every node. Engineers get where-used (implosion) and component-explosion in one place, plus a "can-build" calculator that walks the structure against current inventory, scheduled receipts, and demand to tell you the realistic buildable quantity and the first blocking component.
Because every business runs Business Central differently — different costing methods, unit-of-measure conventions, variant usage, and reporting needs — we do not sell this as a one-size AppSource download. ECOSIRE builds it to your environment, installs it as a per-tenant extension (no source handed to a third party, no AppSource validation delays), wires it to your permission sets, and supports it. How long does delivery take, and how is it installed?
Typical lead time is about 2–4 weeks from kickoff, depending on the depth of your BOMs, costing method, variant/location complexity, and any OData/Power BI extras. We scope against your environment, build the AL extension, install it on your sandbox for UAT, then promote it to production as a per-tenant extension. It is not an instant AppSource download — it is a build-to-order project installed on your specific tenant.
Is this an AppSource app I can just download and install myself?
No. We deliver it as a per-tenant extension that ECOSIRE builds and publishes directly on your Business Central environment. That avoids AppSource validation delays and lets us tailor the costing logic, variants, and reporting to how your company actually runs BC. You can request the AL source for your own repository at handover.
Will it survive Business Central updates?
Yes. It uses table extensions, page extensions, and event subscribers only — no base application objects are modified — which is Microsoft's upgrade-safe extension model. We test against your target BC version and re-validate when you take major or monthly updates as part of ongoing support.
What ongoing support and updates are included?
The $249 covers the one-time build and installation. We offer optional ongoing support that covers compatibility re-testing against BC cloud updates, bug fixes, permission/role changes, and small enhancements. We agree the support scope with you before handover so there are no surprises.
Does it change my existing data or Production BOMs?
No. The viewer is read-and-analyze by default — it reads your existing Production BOMs, routings, item ledger, and availability data and presents them. It does not rewrite your BOMs. Any write-back or editing behavior is only added if you explicitly request it during scoping, and is gated behind its own permission set.
