Assembly & Kitting Management is a custom Dynamics 365 Business Central extension that ECOSIRE builds, installs and supports for assembly-to-order and light-manufacturing operations. It is not an instant Microsoft AppSource download — we scope your kit structures and posting workflow, build the AL extension, deploy it as a per-tenant extension to your sandbox, then promote it to production after sign-off.
Business Central ships a capable native Assembly module, but real kitting shops outgrow it: multi-level sub-assembly nesting that's painful to trace, kit pricing that doesn't roll up cleanly, and shop-floor capture that forces office re-keying. This extension closes those gaps with table and page extensions over Assembly Header/Line and BOM Component, event subscribers on assembly posting, and a streamlined assembly-capture page tuned for floor staff.
You get kit/assembly BOM definition with variants, real-time assemble-to-order availability checks (using BC's item availability calculation), component pick and kit-output posting, nested sub-assembly explosion, and automated cost roll-up that feeds your pricing. Where useful, we expose kit data through the BC REST/OData v4 API for Power BI or a Power Platform front end, and configure a job queue entry for scheduled availability or cost recalculation.
Everything is delivered against your Business Central version and localization, with dedicated permission sets so floor, planning and finance roles see only what they should. ECOSIRE handles installation, a hypercare window after go-live, and version-compatibility maintenance as Microsoft ships its semi-annual BC releases. The $999 price is a one-time build fee; scope is confirmed in a short discovery call before any code is written so the delivered extension matches how your shop actually assembles and kits.

How long until the extension is live in my Business Central environment?
Typical delivery is one working week from the discovery call, depending on how many kit structures, posting rules and integrations you need. We start with a short scope document, build the AL extension, install it to your sandbox for testing, and only promote to production once you sign off. This is a build-to-order engagement — there is no instant AppSource download.
What does ongoing support and updates look like after go-live?
The build fee includes a hypercare window immediately after go-live to resolve any issues, plus version-compatibility maintenance so the extension keeps working across Microsoft's semi-annual Business Central releases. You receive the AL source and the extension is registered to your tenant. Enhancements beyond the original scope are quoted separately, and we can move you onto a retainer if you want continuous changes.
Will this modify the Business Central base application or break upgrades?
No. It is delivered as a per-tenant extension using AL table extensions, page extensions and event subscribers — the base app is never modified. This keeps you upgrade-safe; when Microsoft ships a new BC version we recompile and retest the extension against it rather than untangling customizations from the core.
How is this different from the native Assembly Management in Business Central?
Native Assembly handles basic BOMs and assemble-to-order well, but tends to fall short on deep sub-assembly nesting traceability, clean kit cost roll-up into pricing, and floor-friendly capture. This extension builds on the native engine and availability calculation, adding the kitting-specific workflow, shop-floor capture page and roll-up logic that growing assembly shops need.
Can it integrate with Power BI, Power Platform or our other systems?
Yes, where it's in scope. We can expose kit BOM, availability and cost data through the Business Central REST/OData v4 API for Power BI dashboards or a Power Apps front end, and surface BC data into Dataverse via the standard integration. Any external integration is confirmed in the discovery scope so the build matches your stack.
Which Business Central deployments and versions are supported?
We target Business Central online (SaaS) as a per-tenant extension, which is the most common deployment. On-premises and hybrid setups can be supported as well. We build against your specific BC version and country localization, confirmed during discovery, so cost posting, tax and rounding behave correctly for your region.
